This is not a strategy that I use that often but, if you really want something that is for sale online but are not willing to pay the asking price, try opening an account with the store, filling in all of your details and payment information, and put the item in your virtual shopping cart. Then close your browser and don’t complete the transaction.
Fairly often, you will actually get a coupon by e-mail after some time has passed, to motivate you to buy the item. It requires patience and does not always work, but is a neat little trick you can try!
