In the last few years, WalMart has really upped its game in the grocery arena. Today, you can find all sorts of food at WalMart, from the cheapest and most unhealthy, to good organic fare. It also has a huge selection, and you do not need to buy large portions like at warehouse stores.
Another good feature is their app called the Savings Catcher. All you have to do is take a picture of your receipt with your smartphone, and the app will compare the prices of your purchases with those of sales at nearby supermarkets. If WalMart is not the lowest, you will get a refund for the difference in the form of WalMart credit. (But be careful: as far as I know, the savings catcher only looks for sales at other places, and not their regular prices. WalMart is not always the cheapest, but usually is, in my experience).
You should also visit the WalMart website, where you can find and print coupons for your local store, as well as pre-order groceries for pickup and loading into your car.
I don’t do all of my grocery shopping at WalMart. However, I try to buy a lot of staples there, since I know that it will save me money.
