How to Save Money at Publix

Ah, Florida’s pride; where shopping is a pleasure, as they say. But it’s also expensive! You know what I’m talking about: Publix. Saving money Publix can be a challenge, especially if you’re shopping at a store that doesn’t offer many discounts or sales. However, if you’re a regular shopper at Publix, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of ways to save money on your purchases. Here are a few tips to help you stretch your budget further at Publix:

  • Sign up for a Publix account: If you haven’t already, create a Publix account online or in store. This will allow you to access digital coupons and save them to your account. Simply present your account information at checkout and the discounts will be automatically applied to your purchase. They have a phone app and, once you’re signed up, you can access your account by entering your phone number at checkout (at least here in Miami).
  • Check the weekly ad: Publix releases a new weekly ad every Wednesday, which features discounts and special deals on a variety of products. Be sure to check the ad before you go shopping so you can take advantage of the best deals.
  • Use your loyalty card: If you have a Publix loyalty card, be sure to use it every time you shop. This will allow you to earn points and redeem them for discounts on future purchases. Again, you can just enter your phone number at checkout.
  • Look for in-store discounts: Keep an eye out for in-store discounts, such as “buy one, get one free” deals and discounts on specific products. These discounts can be found throughout the store and can add up to significant savings. Personally, I find that frozen dinners are often deeply discounted, making them cheaper than at other stores like Trader Joe’s and Target. However, when they’re not discounted, they can be more expensive than the other places.
  • Shop the sales: Publix frequently runs sales on various products, so be sure to check the sales flyer before you shop. You can often find great deals on items like meat, produce, and dairy products, so it’s worth taking a few extra minutes to see what’s on sale.
  • Use coupons: Coupons can be a great way to save money at Publix. You can find coupons in the weekly ad, in the store, or online. Just be sure to check the expiration dates and any restrictions before you use them. Usually, you can digitally “clip” coupons in their app. Then, enter your phone number at checkout to redeem them. Here’s a video with more on that, from YouTube:

  • Shop the clearance section: Don’t forget to check out the clearance section at Publix. You can often find great deals on products that are nearing their expiration dates or have been discontinued.

By following these tips, you can save money on your purchases at Publix and stretch your budget further. Happy shopping!
